And the amount of investment we put in makes a difference in closeness and trust within those relationships. It is really no different when it comes to our relationship with Christ. The more we put into our relationship with Christ, the closer we are to Him and the more we trust Him.

As believers, we know that in order to stay close to the Lord, we need to pray. But what does prayer have to do with the armor of God? How does it help us stand up to the enemy’s schemes? Paul speaks to the church at Ephesus and shows us how foundational our prayer life is in order to activate God’s armor that we are told to put on each day. A message from the series “Withstanding: Winning the Battle Against the Enemy\’s Schemes.” We know that in a war, there is equipment needed and there are plans that need to be made. Soldiers need to be prepared to fight off the enemy at any moment. As believers, we are also in a battle each day against an enemy, the devil. Thankfully, God’s Word speaks directly to us about how we are to fight off our enemy and combat the lies he throws at us.

As we enter our second week in our Withstanding sermon series, we learn that even though we know the devil loses in the end, he will still fight to take as many with him as possible. That means we are fighting his fiery darts every day whether it be through subtle ways or through attacks that are more apparent. Despite the way they come, God reveals to us in the book of Ephesians how we are to fight through faith and with the truth of His Word. Be sure to listen in to this week’s sermon!

Unbeknownst to you, you were involved in a game that you didn’t even realize was going on around you! Believe it or not, when we become believers and give our lives to Christ wholeheartedly, suddenly our soul is being fought over and we are involved in a battle we were unaware of.

This week we begin a new sermon series here at Mount Hope, WithStanding — Winning the Battle Against the Enemy’s Schemes. The Bible is certainly not silent on the spiritual battles happening each day. Listen in to this week’s sermon as we open up Ephesians 6 to learn more about these battles and gain an understanding of God’s truths regarding them.
